GSO Test

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for visiting our school website; we welcome your interest in St Mark's Church of England Primary School.

We are an inclusive one-form entry Church of England Primary School in the heart of Oval, Kennington and Vauxhall. Our diverse intake reflects the local area and the school maintains the feel of a welcoming, close-knit family. Christian values are at the core of our ethos, helping to create a warm, caring environment, within which children feel safe, valued and in which they can thrive in all areas of their development.

Our size enables us to nurture each child throughout the whole school and work in close partnership with all members of the school community.  This is reflected in how well we know and work with our children and families and how well we cater for the needs of all pupils at the school. We are pleased that this was reflected in our most recent Ofsted inspection (September 2019), where we were judged Outstanding in the area of children's Personal Development

Your son or daughter has the opportunity to truly flourish during their time at St Mark's. With our broad, inspirational curriculum, we can ensure high quality teaching, rigorous academic challenges and exciting and memorable learning experiences. We have extensive playground space, which we have recently developed, introducing an edible playground where children participate in gardening lessons and extensive playground equipment, used to promote children's health and well-being.

We were judged as a 'GOOD' School by Ofsted in December 2015 and 'GOOD with OUTSTANDING features most recently in September 2019.

Our Early Years provision has undergone a transformation which has included the creation of a Nursery in September 2017; the extension of the outdoor learning space and the appointment of  bi-lingual, musically gifted and forest school trained staff. Our Early Years provision was judged as GOOD in September 2019.

Please feel free to contact the school and arrange a visit. We look forward to meeting you and to welcoming you into the St Mark's family.

Mr Sola Ingram
